Focus and Scope Mission The mission of Revista Desafio Online, from the School of Administration and Business at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, is to serve as a source of research and knowledge dissemination for the academic and managerial communities in the areas of Administration, Accounting, and Economics.

Focus The nature of the journal is academic, publishing original and unpublished articles that are the result of scientific research. The articles must necessarily bring a theoretical or empirical academic contribution to the field of knowledge. Revista Desafio Online publishes works that encompass topics within the Applied Social Sciences (Administration, Economic Sciences, and Accounting), involving discussions ranging from agribusiness strategies to macroeconomic analyses, and research on higher education in the areas of interest. The positions stated in the articles are the exclusive responsibility of their authors. There is a deliberate positioning to publish articles from all research groups in the country.

Target Audience Revista Desafio Online is aimed at a broad audience of researchers, professors, students, entrepreneurs, consultants, and other professionals who work in public, private, and third-sector organizations, both national and international.

Peer Review Process The manuscripts received by Revista Desafio Online are initially submitted to an admission review (desk review). In this phase, the editors analyze: (1) whether the work is consistent with the journal's Focus and Scope, and (2) whether the Author Guidelines have been met. Articles accepted in this first phase are sent for merit evaluation in the double-blind review system. Manuscripts are evaluated considering the relevance of the studied topic to the area, writing, the logical flow of the theoretical review with the use of appropriate references, the adequacy of methodological procedures, the depth and consistency of the analyses, the delineation of the conclusions, and the relevance of the contributions. This stage of the evaluation process can last up to three months, at the end of which the authors are informed of the editorial decision. When reviewers request adjustments to the article, authors will be granted a period of thirty to sixty days, at the editor's discretion, to incorporate the required suggestions and corrections. The final decision on whether or not to publish the work is always up to the editor-in-chief, based on the opinions of the other editors and ad hoc consultants. The conclusion of this process does not imply the immediate publication of the article; it is up to the editors, in accordance with the editorial policies, to prepare the publication schedule and decide on the appropriate moment for publication.

Periodicity The periodicity of Revista Desafio Online is quarterly.

Open Access Policy This journal offers immediate open access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides a greater global democratization of knowledge.

Authorship According to the recommendations given by journal indexers, the limits on works from authors affiliated with the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) will be respected. No more than one work by the same author will be published each year.

This responsibility lies entirely with the authors of the respective texts. All authors must have participated in the preparation of the articles in a way that allows them to publicly assume responsibility for their content. Qualification as an author must presuppose: a) conception and design or analysis and interpretation of the data, b) writing the article or its critical review, and c) approval of the version to be published.

Journal History After twelve years of publication in a print version, Revista Desafio, in 2013, adopted an online-only version (ISSN 2317-949X). As a journal edited by the School of Administration and Business at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), it was deemed appropriate to adapt this electronic journal according to the good practices guidelines for scientific publication from the ANPAD Manual. The most recent Qualis-Capes classification of Revista Desafio Online (2317-949X) is B1 for the areas of Public and Business Administration, Accounting, and Tourism, which is an indicative stratum of quality and makes the journal assume the task of consolidating the quality of the processes and the electronic publication of this dissemination vehicle. The electronic version of the journal has the mission to be a recognized source of research in the fields of Administration and related areas. To foster interest in its publications and, consequently, the number of visits to the journal's page, scientific articles and applications of knowledge that are original and relevant to the journal's areas of interest are published for free. Desafio Online has a quarterly periodicity. To ensure that a new issue becomes public every four months, rules for the evaluation of articles are established, as well as deadlines for their return to the authors. In each published article, the date the article was received and the date it was released for publication are stated. The spontaneous collaboration of the scientific editorial board, formed by recognized researchers from different Universities in Brazil and abroad, as well as Research Institutes, in indicating reviewers and in ensuring the adherence of publications to the areas of interest of Desafio Online, contributes to ensuring the intended rigor of what is published. All evaluations are done by two reviewers (a form of blind review), and at the end of a year of publication, a list containing the name and institutions of those who evaluated articles that were published during that period is presented on the journal's page. Authors of works published in Desafio Online will be invited to evaluate submitted works for review, promoting reciprocity in the academic environment. Finally, it should be noted that Desafio Online is fully included in the SPELL, Latindex, GoogleScholar, Portal de Periódicos CAPES/MEC, and Dialnet portals. The aim is to increase authors' interest in publishing original results of works representative of the journal's interests.
